Emmerdale stars welcome baby son
7th April 2010
Some Emmerdale actors and actresses may be buying baby gift sets, as two of the show's stars have just become parents for the first time.
Charley Webb and Matthew Wolfenden welcomed a baby boy named Buster Lawrence on Saturday (April 3rd) and TV bosses say the couple are "delighted" by the arrival.
While 22-year-old Webb, who plays Debbie Dingle in the show, is currently on maternity leave, Wolfenden appears as businessman David Metcalf.
Speaking about his new child, the actor said: "Buster is amazing and we are both completely besotted with him."
Webb is set to return to the soap later this year and she previously stated that she loves babies and has been broody since she was about ten years old.
Emmerdale is set in a fictional village in Yorkshire and has been on TV since 1972. It is the third most popular soap in the UK, after Coronation Street and EastEnders.
