Nicole Richie takes Harlow and Sparrow to birthday party

 While many celebrity mothers may have minders to keep an eye on their little ones and ensure they are washed and dressed in cashmere socks, some take a more hands-on approach.
Nicole Richie appears to be one of these, as she was recently spotted taking both of her children to a friend's birthday party in Los Angeles.
The 28-year-old carried two-year-old Harlow and Sparrow, six months, before putting her eldest down so that she could walk along holding her mother's hand.
While the youngsters were dressed casually for the occasion, Richie, who recently became engaged to her partner Joel Madden, seemed to be embracing the sunshine in a colourful kaftan, black ankle boots and shades.
The reality TV star recently spoke to Ellen DeGeneres about her wedding plans, saying that although she has not made any arrangements yet, she is getting ready to sit down and think about what she wants.
