Baby blankets 'are not begrudged'
23rd February 2010
Expenditure on baby blankets, clothing and education are not resented by parents, according to LV=.
The financial services provider has published new figures estimating the cost of the different elements of raising a child to the age of 21.
For new parents, the cost of baby blankets, cashmere cardigans and playsuits could be among the first increases in expenditure to face.
And while the cost of clothing throughout childhood totals more than £14,000 - or £667 per year - LV= group chief executive Mike Rogers notes that the exact figure is unlikely to concern many parents.
"Every parent will know how expensive it can be to raise a little one - and as parents, we know we don't begrudge a single penny of it," he says.
For a touch of luxury, parents keen to invest in their baby's comfort can consider cashmere cardigans and playsuits to keep their newborn warm and snug.
