Van Morrison announces birth of 4th child

 One famous face who may be hoping to receive cashmere blankets and cashmere baby clothes over the coming months is the singer Van Morrison.
The 64-year-old, whose musical offerings include he album Astral Weeks and the single Brown-Eyed Girl, posted an announcement on his website this week that his partner and manager Gigi Lee has given birth to his fourth child, George Ivan Morrison III.
So far, the singer, who is also famous for keeping a low profile, has declined to comment on the time and place of the birth.
"Little Van, born December 28th 2009, is the spitting image of his daddy. He is a dual citizen of Northern Ireland/United Kingdom and the United states," the statement declared.
Other high-profile figures who have welcomed new additions to their families this year include Canadian songstress Martha Wainwright, tennis star Roger Federer, actress Sarah Jessica Parker and Madonna, who adopted a child from Malawi.
