Stellina Baby – who we are, what we do...
I have always been biased towards cashmere clothes – soft, warm and oh so luxurious, they have been a favourite to dress my little boy since his birth in July 2004.
As a product developer for many fashion houses, I was always surprised at the great importance placed on children’s cashmere clothing and fascinated by the constant need for new designs, fresh ideas and luxurious quality.
The feedback from customers and retail buyers alike was that baby cashmere is a great product. It provides warmth without being bulky; it’s stylish, long-lasting and very cool!
The birth of my son, and the subsequent baby boom amongst my friends created a real demand for clothes that were cute, functional and would be loved by parents and children. As a result my husband and I decided to set up Stellina Baby (Stellina was my pet name as a child). We wanted to work together on creating a cashmere collection that was special and luxurious yet affordable. Our collection is contemporary and vibrant but above all practical.
The inspiration for this collection came from one of my favourite shops in the little Southern Italian town of Caserta, where I grew up - it was an old fashioned little sweet shop full of wonders. Jars of all colours and shapes contained the most unusual sweets (Violetta was my favourite, a Parma Violet Sugar sweet with the most delicious flowery flavour, in the softest shade of lilac).
We are proud to say that ourcollection is lovingly made in amazing factories, using the finest Italian yarns. The employees work in a lovely, family run environment and take great pride in their work.
Our collection is made of 100% Super Soft Cashmere, made using the finest, most precious Italian yarns. Our pure cashmere items can begently hand washed,to keep them soft and fluffy like when they were first purchased.
We also offer 100% Cashmere on the outside and 100% Cotton on the inside range, for children who suffer from skin allergies such as Eczema. The items in this range will provide a child with the warmth they need with the added protection of Cotton.
